Slivered Lining
there's always a silver lining
there's always a sliver shining
there's always something to grasp
even when kicked down the stairs
of a rejected escher painting
why? for being, I guess,
too asymmetrical
too unappealing
too sporadic
there's a ledge I can grab onto
some square of the chessboard
unoccupied, unpawned
the silver lining
that sliver shining
the silver lining is being stripped
like copper wiring ripped out in bunches
coily golden brown like hair straight from the follicle
shooting sparks zapping every molecule
the silver lining is escaping my grasp
so I keep falling down the stairs
doomed to tumble, I fall
