February Poem 9/28
Sunlandic Two
I was born omniscient but illiterate
Important yet incontinent
Socrates in the crib with ambrosia on my bib
Dio as my nanny with satan as my sib
The rift came fast like the stormy divide
Cobblestones or wood bridge? I cannot decide
Like a brooding basket case chasing unseen inner glow
Will the TV show me so? I don't know, I don't know
But as I grew up I grew out as well
Skipping custody battles to hang out in hell
Because the basement's on fire and so was the plane
And the owner only told me to stay in my lane
Always a pilot but never ever a passenger
Aspiring deity demoted down to a messenger
Like a white flag tangled in a stormwrecked power line
You wished me divine; I just wished me alive
Oblique Strategy of the day: Do we need holes?
