13/28- Broken Mirror (right twice a day)
Oblique Strategy: Go to an extreme, move back to a more comfortable place.
13- Broken Mirror (Right twice a day)
When I was a kid and drifting off to sleep
My three biggest fears were always that of screens
Faces peering in through my window screen
Images suddenly appearing on my tv screen
And my reflection in the mirror shifting
I would cover them up with paper and tape
Blinds double drawn to face away from my trial
Plead with my parents to take them away
Away, away, away
Now that I've grown you'd think I've changed
My room reflects as much at least
Two mirrors parallel, just adjacent to the door
A tv sits not too far out of reach
My bed sits against a window looking out into the street
The blinds are broken so there's no kind of barrier in between
And the tv, though unplugged, sits facing me with a simple solid stare
If I'd truly grown I'd feel alone but I know there's something there
