Oblique Strategy: Faced with a choice, do both
1- Filament
Follicles, budding strands of hair like
roots budding trunks and eventually trees
Rings of time like laps around a clock
or a race track-

Filament, like factors that push and pull
Or even pen us up in a sort of purgatory
Like bonds that bind us, a presence behind us
Pushing us together despite it all
Our futures & our foundations
Being filtered through these threads
Follow the throughline, trace to the beginning
Twigs and twine forming a kind of sort of perfect little nest
My thimblecapped heart beating, sitting in the center
How timid to imagine I once was
Tucked neath the bird's wing for warmth
The two sit subtly atwitter
Canaries and cardiacs won't stay sitting ducks for long,
Perfect targets prime for potshots, ticking, chirping, twitching, down
They'll adapt. Wings and string create the perfect, purple pair
Fiery fliers combine like jackknives soaring and slicing through the air
No matter how much they cut through time, however
The fiber will follow
